Hello Blogging Friends!
I am sorry I have been absent for a while...I have been here, just in a little bit of a transition! I started a new job last week! I am going to be a Special Education teacher in a school with students who have behavioral and emotional disturbances. It is somethign totally different from what I have ever been in before. I have eight students with two teaching assistants, plus behavior support. Academics is not the most important part of this school, but getting students to be able to function in life.
I can't wait to share more with you in the coming weeks about this new adventure I am on!
Today, I am linking up with Oh' Boy Fourth Grade for her Currently!
Listening- Gilmore Girls...love it! I am so excited to watch it on Netflix now...even though I own all of the seasons on DVD!
Loving- I LOVE fall! The colors of the trees are beautiful and I am so grateful to live in a beautiful part of the country! I could look at them all of the time!
Thinking- Since I have started this new job, I have been chipping away at my classroom set up slowly! The classroom was just opened in my school this year and another teacher has been running it since the beginning of the year. I don't feel like it is mine yet! I am hoping to spend a week-end working on setting it up before I officially take over in a week!
Wanting- see above!
Needing- Motivation...I feel like that is the story of my life. I want to make more TpT products, go to the gym, quilt, read, etc. I just need some motivation!
Trick- I actually got this tip from another teacher I was observing in my school. Academics are not the focus in our school so we try and get it in where ever possible. One of the teachers wants her students to learn the presidents, so she assigns a different one each week as their cue to line up. This week it was James Monroe. I thought this was a clever way to incorporate some academics into the classroom!
Best of luck getting everything set up! When all is said and done don't forget to take some time out for yourself.

I'll pray we both find some motivation!!! I hope you feel settled soon and I'm sure you'll be a blessing to your students. :)
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean being absent from the blog. Had so many intentions of getting to it but something had to give. I am planning on being better from here on out. I totally love fall too!! Good luck with your new job. ilive2learnilove2grow
