October Currently with a trick!

Hello Blogging Friends!  

I am sorry I have been absent for a while...I have been here, just in a little bit of a transition!  I started a new job last week!  I am going to be a Special Education teacher in a school with students who have behavioral and emotional disturbances.  It is somethign totally different from what I have ever been in before.  I have eight students with two teaching assistants, plus behavior support.  Academics is not the most important part of this school, but getting students to be able to function in life.

I can't wait to share more with you in the coming weeks about this new adventure I am on!

Listening- Gilmore Girls...love it!  I am so excited to watch it on Netflix now...even though I own all of the seasons on DVD!

Loving-  I LOVE fall!  The colors of the trees are beautiful and I am so grateful to live in a beautiful part of the country!  I could look at them all of the time!

Thinking- Since I have started this new job, I have been chipping away at my classroom set up slowly! The classroom was just opened in my school this year and another teacher has been running it since the beginning of the year.  I don't feel like it is mine yet!  I am hoping to spend a week-end working on setting it up before I officially take over in a week!

Wanting- see above!

Needing- Motivation...I feel like that is the story of my life.  I want to make more TpT products, go to the gym, quilt, read, etc.  I just need some motivation!

Trick-  I actually got this tip from another teacher I was observing in my school.  Academics are not the focus in our school so we try and get it in where ever possible.  One of the teachers wants her students to learn the presidents, so she assigns a different one each week as their cue to line up.  This week it was James Monroe.  I thought this was a clever way to incorporate some academics into the classroom!

Wordless Wednesday: This makes me happy!

Well...it has been a while!  The month of September has been a bit of a crazy month, where I could do nothing, but trust God.  I finally started school today!!!  A blog post will be posted soon about the new adventure I will be going on this year!

This picture makes me happy!  These are my nephews that live in the Netherlands!  I saw this picture at the end of my first day of school and it just made me smile!  I think it might end up on my desk!  What makes you happy after a long day?

September Currently

It has been a while!  I am so sorry I have neglect my blog these past couple of weeks.  Life has been a bit crazy so the blog did not get the attention it deserved!  I am hoping to be back on track!

Can you believe it is September???

Listening- Dance Academy is an Australian TV Show that is on Netflix.  It is about students at the National Ballet Academy.  I don't know why I love it, but I do!  

Loving- The weather this summer has been wonderful!  It has been perfect!  I am a little afraid of what the winter might hold!

Thinking- A new job!  Yes, I have gotten myself a new job 10 minutes from my house!!!  NO more commuting an hour and a half to work each way!  I will give more details soon because I have not started yet.  I have to be processed through Human Resources in the next few weeks and go through some training.  I am hoping to get it all done quickly so I can meet my new students soon!

Wanting- Motivation!  I have some projects I would like to get done in the next couple of days/weeks but my motivation is lacking ALOT! 

Needing- I have two quilts that are started and need to be finished!  But I have a lack of Motivation (see above).  One of the quilts I need for a baby shower for next Sunday!  I will get it done.  I always work better under pressure!

3 Trips- Australia, Hawaii, Italy.  I have never been to these three places and have always wanted to go.  There is rumor that my dad is going to take us all to Italy in a few years to see where he was born and grew up!  Hopefully I will get to go to all of them one day!  Oh to be able to travel the world without a care in the world!
